SecurityToolSecurity Tool, that nasty infectious program that slows your computer and makes you think you have viruses. Well in fact you do and that is the virus. Most of the time these rogue spyware programs are very aggressive and will block you from removing them. The best way is to remove it manually.

Remember how to get into Safe Mode. Well just restart your computer and keep pressing F8, until you see the options with Safe Mode. With the arrow keys move down and highlight Safe Mode, then press ENTER. After its booted into Safe Mode, open Computer.

Computer-> C: ->ProgramData

You may not see ProgramData in the root of C: because it’s a hidden folder, you can type it in at the top(C:\ProgramData), or open Organize then Folder and Search Options and under the View Tab select Show Hidden Files and Folders.

Once your in the folder Program Data there will be a folder where it has only numbers in the title, something like 4946550101. Just delete the entire folder. Close that window. Delete the Security Tool Desktop Icon.

Next you want to clear the startup of the Security Tool item, again it will have a name of just numbers. If you have trouble getting to the startup remember to follow the article on clearing the startup. With Vista or Windows 7 just click on the start button and type msconfig into the search bar, press Enter or click on “msconfig” in the search results. Alright so you have opened the System Configuration, shown above. Click on the Startup tab. Warning: Do not change anything under any other tabs; it could have adverse effects on your computer. Under the Startup tab, find the item with just numbers in the name, something like 4946550101, un-check it. Now reboot your computer and you should be clear of Security Tool.

Remember it is advised to also follow the articles Clean Malware before it’s too late and Basic PC Maintenance.

Now your computer should be running virus free and much faster as well. Enjoy!

    I’ve been surfing on-line more than 3 hours nowadays, but I by no means discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you probably did, the internet can be much more useful than ever before.
