Ah this Thursday is Thanksgiving, the calm before the storm. Every retailer and shopper knows what that means. The term Black Friday dates back as early as 1966, meaning when companies started making money (in the black), instead of losing it (in the red). It is the largest anticipated shopping day of the year for retailers and consumers alike. Black Friday is just around the corner so get your flannel lined jackets and mitts ready for the action.
Traditionally on this day consumers wait in the cold early morning moonlight for a chance at a good deal. And deals will be had! Almost every retailer is having a Black Friday Sale, door busters and weekend sales will be advertised. Looking for that great deal? Be warned you might be waiting for several hours in line before the store even opens. Some retailers are even doing door busters on each weekend in November and December to crank up the action this year. I encourage anyone that is looking for a great deal, or still needs to do some holiday shopping, to get out there and grab it up. Be smart, shop the ads, pick your location, plan your strategy, know your product and go get ’em. Ok so it will be crazy, action packed, and full of adventure out there this Friday morning.
Alright so you’re not enthused about bundling up and waiting 8 hours in the cold for a good deal, well shop online in your pajamas. This year many retailers are having Black Friday specials online. This is great news for those of you that want the deal but don’t like the crowd. Check around, not all stores are having online sales but many are and it may be your chance to get in on the action!
Not planning on taking part of this year’s holiday shopping madness? Well even if you’re not buying anything grab that camcorder and get some funny video. We might even run a Black Friday Video Contest right here at Pickled PC. Shoppers will be full of life and ready to show off their place in line for that laptop special. Take that video, post it on YouTube and link it right into the Black Friday forums here at Pickled PC.
